Cops & Kids leagues serve boys and girls throughout the year in sports including: softball, soccer, basketball, volleyball and flag football. NYPD’s Community Affairs officers, along with volunteer police officers from around the City, work closely with PAL to coach, mentor and compete in athletic contests with community youth, allowing all participants to develop positive and lasting relationships.

PAL’s sports programs strive to increase the physical activity of young people, while decreasing risk-taking behaviors by providing opportunities for youth and teens from low-income areas to play in well equipped, organized sports leagues.

New York City’s Police Athletic League is the first and finest civilian-run PAL in the country. Founded in 1914, PAL has served the city’s young people for over 100 years.  PAL provides recreational, educational, cultural and social activities to 30,000 boys and girls annually.  It is also the city’s largest, independent, nonprofit youth organization.  For more information, please visit www.palnyc.org.
