On Wednesday, July 13, PAL celebrated the city-wide opening of Summer Programs, honoring PAL’s partnership with the NYPD. PAL Summer Programs take place throughout the five boroughs, providing PLAYSTREETS, sports leagues including Cops & Kids teams and day camps. NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell helped PAL's Executive Director, Carlos Velazquez open the fire hydrant in Harlem!
PAL Summer Day Camps help children develop their creativity through arts and crafts, explore the city on trips to museums and other sites, enjoy sports activities, and learn from a wide range of educational, recreational and cultural arts specialists.
PLAYSTREETS use public areas throughout New York City to give children safe, supervised places to play and are free to all participants. Click here to watch the video coverage on NBC NY.
