On Saturday, September 11, PAL's Cops and Kids Chorus performed the National Anthem at Citi Field during the 9/11 Tribute before the Mets vs. Yankees Game. This game was nationally televised by Fox Sports and the link on Fox Sports' YouTube Channel has been viewed over 4,000 times. Click to watch.
During November’s Legal Luncheon fundraiser, there was special guest speaker from our Acting program, Jewel, who spoke from the heart about how much PAL Acting has changed her life. Jewel is among 20+ PAL alumni currently attending SUNY Purchase from the PAL Acting Program.
Participants in the PAL Acting program have been busy these past few months! Some of our young people recently attended a performance of Porgy & Bess at Lincoln Center thanks to fellow board member Tony Danza! This trip was extra special because the chorus leader of the Cops and Kids program was performing in that evening’s show.
PAL Acting has been working with the President and Vice President of Purchase College along with PAL Acting alumni who are current students at Purchase. They recently spoke about the PAL Acting / SUNY Purchase connection at two high schools: Gregorio Luperon in Washington Heights and Manhattan Bridges in Hell's Kitchen.
Our current group of PAL Acting students visited Purchase College this fall and attended a special performance of Babette’s Feast by the Junior Acting Company. PAL Acting Alum Keymer Cuesta was in the production and afterwards, students participated in an acting master's class, along with current Purchase College students.
