“I wanted to bring to your attention Maria Apolonio’s performance. She truly is the consummate professional. As a group leader with PAL she fulfills all of her roles, however true she never fails to go above and beyond.”
”Most recently she took the initiative to support a participants younger sibling during the later session. Printing multiplication worksheets and additional resources for them to take home with them, she is truly the, “Best friend a kid could have.” And I am so glad she works at my site and continue to provide quality services.”
Maria has worked at PAL’s Webster Center for two years while attending Hunter College, working her way to a teaching degree. At the center, Maria has been charged with helping greet youth who were coming to the center to play basketball. She also conducted the temperature checks, made sure young people could ask her questions and has been a welcoming face to everyone (staff included) who enters the center.
The above note came in from Nick, the Site Director at the Webster Center in the Bronx where Maria has been working evenings during the Saturday Night Lights program. Thank you to Maria for her dedication to helping youth in New York City. We know she will make a great educator!
