All High School Students grades 9-12 in New York City are invited to enter the PAL/NYPD “Police Commissioner for a Day” essay contest.
Topic: “As Police Commissioner for a Day, how would you work to prevent youth from joining gangs and support those trying to leave them?”
Deadline: April 17th (Essays must be submitted via PDF or Word using this form.)
Awards Ceremony: May 27th - The “Police Commissioner for a Day” winner will meet with Commissioner Tisch, and all winners will spend a day with top NYPD officials.
Top Winner: $500, a personalized certificate, and a $250 donation to their school.
Additional leadership titles awarded, including: Deputy Commissioner and Bureau Chief.
